We are located 5 minutes away from the airport and main town centre by car. We have 6.5 acres of beautiful gardens and a large Bromeliad nursery (Poppy's Bromeliads) that is open to the general public. There are beautiful walks and places to see in Kerikeri and surrounding area and just a 2.5 hour drive to Cape Reinga.
We require people with general gardening knowledge and a good attitude to getting stuck in! We have light and heavy jobs to do so something for everyone - lots of weeding!! We like to keep the work interesting and as varied as possible. Any experience with tree trimming and general gardening an advantage but not essential.
We like to get started around 8-9am and work for 4 hours. We provide breakfast but you help yourself, I make lunch and dinner as I love to cook for people however we do like to eat meat so prefer no vegetarians. We have two double rooms available with your own bathroom, nothing too flash but comfortable and clean.
We enjoy meeting people from all parts of the world and are very relaxed in our home. We want our volunteers to have a fantastic experience in New Zealand so we do what we can to help with that! We have a small boat so if if the stars align we may be able to take you out and catch some fish!
It is recommended that you have your own vehicle as it's not easy to get around from here without one. We prefer to take couples and have a maximum length of stay is two weeks. We like to have a bit of fun and play darts and pool after work in our garage.
