There is a space now. Start 13th June end 30th June 2018
Thank you for reading our profile to the end before emailing.
We mix the volunteers. In each group we have different nationalities genders languages and ages to make it interesting and for the opportunity of meeting new people.
When you come there should be no more than one other who speaks your language most days.
The common language is English and we take our role of helping with the English language seriously.
Volunteers have started with a little English and also with good English in both cases there has been noticeable improvement.

Our House burned down on 25 02 2014
Since then we have hosted dozens of volunteers from nearly twenty countries.
the volunteers have emptied the ashes and stopped more damage.
In 2015 we started to build. There`s lots of stuff for willing hands available.
We are rebuilding our house.
Your bed is in Jedburgh. Its a shared flat. There are four beds for volunteers in a mixed dormitory. Sarah and Julian have a separate bedroom. The flat has a shower 2 toilets TV Internet kitchen.
Julian drives to the house with volunteers each volunteer day in a van. We do 5 hours and return.
There is a lot of free time and two days no help per week.
Some people bring their skills some people bring happiness and are willing to try new things. We can make use of everyone and teach you to help us.
Wow you are all very different :-)
For most questions the answers are here if you contact us there is an automatic response with more information. Please fill in your profile first and write more that two words !
Sorry we dont have time for lots of emails but we will try.
We are busy looking after our volunteers to make them welcome and happy. We are also keeping our business running to pay for life & planning the projects. We are spending time organising food fuel materials tools. We are working hard. We cannot spend time in long email conversations. If you are lucky to come we have time for you then.
Trips to Edinburgh by bus are possible for days out and Jedburgh is in great walking cycling countryside.
We have been hosting Couchsurfers for a few years & often ended up with hitchhikers and various "travelling through" types staying over.
25 hours in a 5 day week two days off
Advice....... Contacting hosts........ Contacting us......
Prepare for yes.
Fill in your profile fully. A long profile is more interesting. Does your profile fit the host? If you want to look after children maybe don`t contact hosts who are building, or farming, choose carefully. Send individual emails, do not copy your profile and send. One hundred identical emails will not get you the response of five individual ones.
Make it easy for the host to say yes. Give all the information to them at the start. We make our decision on one email and your profile. Do not expect a conversation get your information to them at the start.
This is my advice. Choose if its good for you or not....... Good Luck
