We are a small farm/ranch breeding quarter and painthorses. We also take guests for tours and trailriding in the forest and we work with natural horsemanship and western riding. Our horses are not shod.
We are situated around 15 km south of Falköping in a beautiful area. We have 10 - 15 horses that always live outside, cats and a dog of mixed breed. We also have chickens.
We grow our own vegetables and hay/silage for the horses. It is all organically grown.
What we need help with is maintenance of the buildings, chopping wood, forestry, gardenwork, planting, harvesting, painting and mending fences, householdwork, grooming the horses and riding. We also need to take care of saddles and bridles and clean the stables.
You will learn a lot about westernriding and natural horsemanship, ecological farming, permaculture and how to run a farm.
You are also welcome to borrow our bikes if you want to explore the surroundings or if you want to go to Gothenburg one day you are there in one hour.
The accomodation is in a guesthouse with axess to bathroom and kitchen in the mainhouse. We also have a couple of rooms in the house available.
You are welcome to keep your own household or share the meals and householdwork with us. Normally we eat together. Both vegetarian food and meet is available.
We are interested in helpers both for longer or shorter periods.
If you want you can even stay in one of our tipis in summer. You need to be healthy, we don´t take people with allergies or diseases.
There is a small village 5 km from us with stores, banks, library, medical centre, pizzarestaurant and railwaystation.
To come here from Falköping you drive road 47 towards Trollhättan. After 15 km you will see a sign Floby 6, turn left, pass a church and turn right at the next sign Trävattna, follow the road around 5 km until you see a farm with red houses and a barn, red fences and horses.
We also pick you up at the Floby trainstation. From Gothenburg there are trains to Floby, takes around one hour.
It is good if you have some experience of horses and ridingskills but not necessary. Average workinghours is 5 hours a day. Some days more and some days less.
We also have a lot of free time together where we go swimming, biking, picking mushrooms or riding or go to a horseshow or some other local event.
