For this year's KnK Longboard Camp we seek for 15 Course Marshal Volunteers. The Camp will take place in Osilnica, Slovenia from 24/07/2017 until 29/07/2017 (KnK #1) and from 01/08/2017 until 06/08/2017 (KnK #2). However, we expect you to be in Osilnica one day before the event starts, on 23/07/2017 and 31/07/2017 respectively, latest by 18:00. For full 6-day period each Course Marshal shall be reimbursed for his/her help with 1 deck and 1 set of wheels. In addition to this, he/she will also be provided with daily lunch/dinner, the costs for camping and tourist's tax that are covered by the organisers.
Here's some general job description that you might be doing:
Sweeping the track (before/during/after),
Using radio equipment (important to be alert during and between the runs),
Notifying Goal/Start person in case of accident, any irregularity, rider's jam, dangerous and uncontrolled pack riding,
Preparing the track before the start of each day (sweeping up, stalking up the haybales),
Collecting the garbage after each day (not much of it).
Work hours are flexible. Full marshal's briefing will follow once you arrive on site in Osilnica. We expect from our volunteers punctuality, reliability, serious approach, and good command of english language.
Hotel Kovac and adjacent camp, where we're lodged is offering a lot of outside activities to tourists, such as cycling, arching, sauna, spa, swimming, kayaking, rafting, mountain hiking, tennis, table tennis, etc. Don’t forget your swimming suit, there’s a nice river flowing next to the campsite where you can refresh yourself in the morning and show off your water jumping skills in the late afternoon. As mentioned, we will be lodged in the camp with all the usual camping facilities. Please note that camping gear is not provided.
The volunteers will get to know a beautiful region of Slovenia that is surrounded by wild nature, scenic mountains, and endless forrest. A small village of Osilnica is a typical Slovenian village and offers an insight of what the life is like in rural Slovenia. The hotel facilities will be serving traditional Slovenian food and if you are very keen, you can even learn some useful Slovenian words and phrases. Besides, our volunteers have a chance to meet downhill skating scene and to have a glimpse of organizational aspect of the event.
Thank you for your consideration and we hope to hear from you soon!
