Camillian Home is a care and treatment for children living with HIV/AIDS and disabilities
Location: Lat Krabang, Bangkok
Volunteer Work: Volunteering in an environment like Camillian Home can be emotionally draining and physically tiring; therefore, volunteers must show a level of emotional stability and maturity. The role also requires a lot of patience, enthusiasm, creativity and energy. Activities: support the staff in caring for the children (e.g. bathing, changing diapers and feeding); help the staff wash dishes and clean the dining area after meals; help the staff maintain a clean and hygienic environment; play with the children; stimulate the children through a wide variety of personal interactions; teach the children to independently look after themselves; constantly encourage movement in the children; help the children with their speech and other communication skills; play sports; provide music and art activities. Specialist skills: speech therapist; physical therapist; occupational therapist; music teacher; art teacher; English teacher; early years teacher; nurse; nutritionist and cook.
Commitment: 3 months minimum, preferably six months
Cost: Volunteers are provided with free accommodation, meals, laundry facilities and internet access. Volunteers do not stay at Camillian Home. Volunteers stay at a separate house a short 15 minute walk from Camillian Home. We are unable to accommodate volunteers who have special dietary requirements such as strict vegetarians or those with peanut allergies, etc.
