Your role would be to manage / co-ordinate one of our programs / projects, such as our Earthquakes Solutions creative healing program, the Art & Book Cafe, Artists Residences or the development of a Children's Art Camp.
Stay duration should be a minimum of 3 months, however we can discuss this if you want to stay for a shorter period. It often takes time for a project to get underway, so a 3 month period or longer is ideal.
Most importantly we need people with excellent organizational skills, time management, people skills and of course enthusiasm and sense of fun are essential! :) An interest in art, programs, healing and culture, especially learning about nepalese culture is important. Social media skills would be very helpful as well, for promoting our organization and programs.
We are very open to new ideas and suggestions concerning our projects and if you’d like to run workshops whilst you are here you are most welcome! :)
Your main task would be structure and manage one of our key programs/projects in conjunction with the nepali artists, writers and academics involved at NexUs. We would expect help for 5 days a week, 5 hours a day. Two days you will have off to explore this amazing city!
In return, you will be able to learn a lot through (cultural) exchange and also have the experience of running projects and programs in an international context. You will meet many inspiring Nepali artists, writers and change makers. You are also free to participate at any of our diverse range of interesting workshops.
You can have breakfast and lunch (vegetarian) with us, as well as use our simple kitchen to make yourself a meal. To cover food costs we would kindly ask for you to pay $5 each day.
We also provide drinking water. You are welcome to make yourself some tea or snacks anytime in the kitchen!
NexUs Culture is a comfortable 3 storey home located in Kathmandu’s ex-pat haven. You will have your own private room. Bathrooms with hot water, a washing machine, as well as WiFi are also available. Volunteering here you can experience a perfect combination of inspiration, comfort and warm hospitality!
From here, you have a good access to cafes, art galleries and transport to anywhere in Kathmandu. You can walk easily around the neighbourhood and discover Patan. Cafes, restaurants, corner stores and a large supermarket are easily reachable. It is also super easy to get taxis from the main road. There is a lot of public transportation, and we can explain that to you when you arrive.
