Help at our beautiful non-profit beach resort

Over the past two years we have built a resort from scratch on a beautiful beach on the stunning island of Borneo. What sets us apart from many others is that our NGO's entire share of the profits (about 50%) will go directly towards wildlife conservation projects on Borneo. We are extremely passionate about helping wildlife and providing innovative solutions for the complex challenges that plague conservation efforts globally.On site you will be living with a small team of local staff as well as other visiting volunteers.
We opened the resort in August 2017 and are now particularly keen to host volunteers who are flexible and can do both customer-related work: reception, bar, kitchen, as well as site maintenance and gardening. An eagerness to do whatever it takes to help our cause and a friendly disposition are traits that are always useful!
In return for your help you will get a basic accommodation equipped with a kitchen, cold showers and western toilets (we are still in the process of renovating the volunteer quarters, but what the accommodation lacks the setting more than makes up for).
The resort is situated right on the beach in Lundu, 80 km away from Kuching. Once you've arrived in Kuching we can direct you on how to catch the bus to Lundu.
Two meals are provided on every working day. Sometimes they will be cooked for you, sometimes you will have to cook for yourself.
Whilst our resort provides paid employment for a large team of local people, one of the ways that we can maximise profit for wildlife conservation and welfare outcomes is to also welcome volunteer staff to work at the bars - this is where you come in! We are passionate conservationists and we strive to spread the word about the plight of wildlife amongst locals and tourists alike. We feel that volunteering with us is a great opportunity for people who are travelling the world and want to do some good for the planet at the same time.
