It may be of interest to volunteers to know that profits from my hostel and bed and breakfast are used to fund my humanitarian work and projects so your help will actually help me help others!
I am looking for volunteers at my hostel and bed and breakfast near Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. Help needed would include making beds, cleaning, stocking breakfast foods, laundry, checking in guests and other chores associated with the business and around the house/property. Volunteers will have the opportunity to meet and mingle with guests from all over the world so this can be a fun cultural experience!
My hostel is located in Driggs, Idaho in the heart of the Tetons just 1 hour from Jackson, Wyoming and Grand Teton National Park, and my bed and breakfast is located in Island Park, Idaho just 45 minutes from Yellowstone. Volunteers would help at both places so on their days off they could easily visit the national park they are closest to.
Volunteers would help from 4 to 6 hours a day for 4 days a week with 4 days off to hike, mountain bike, backpack, canoe, fish, and many other activities that the area offers - so work 4 days then off 4 days! Some days would be a split shift working in the morning and then again in the evening.
Volunteers will be housed in a dorm room, small cabin or travel trailer depending on which facility they are helping at with breakfast and snacks included that are provided for the guests. Since it would be hard to feed volunteers who have varied tastes I will give each volunteer a $40 food allowance after each cycle of help.
Volunteers will have access to a kitchen with a refrigerator and space to keep dry goods, free laundry, and Wi-fi.
If volunteers stay for at least 4 weeks I'll provide them with an annual National Parks Pass (an $80 value, or they can use the $80 for whatever they want) that they can use to explore nearby Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks on their free time plus ANY National Park in the U.S.!
Your own transportation is necessary if you want to go anywhere as there is no easy access to any public transportation.
If a volunteer can only stay for two weeks then they would have to be at Kilgore Mountain Hideaway near Yellowstone.
It is important to note that I can not have any smokers volunteer for me as I am allergic to cigarette smoke and even the smell on clothing makes me nauseous. Also no drinking of alcohol is allowed at Teton Hostel Hideaway.
