We have a permaculture homestead in Medicine Bow, Wyoming. The land has been very degraded and we are working to transform it into a healthy, vibrant, food forest. Our goal is to provide most of the food we need and use the surplus to feed the community. Volunteers are welcome from 1 day stints, to many weeks.
The chores would range from weeding/gardening/minding the chickens to larger projects such as repairing the barn, digging a water catchment (bulldozer/tractor work), to building wind/snow fences. So much to do...
We can offer meals and parking space for your vehicle, trailer, RV, tent, etc. We are working on providing some living space eventually, (i.e. teepee, bunkhouse).
Blue-ribbon fishing, world-class hiking, and camping are close by.
If you want to have a taste of what homesteading the west was like, this is a place for you!
