Pope Valley Fruits is a two-year-old family-run organic fruit farm in the beginning stages of growth. We are located in the world famous Napa Valley wine growing region of northern California. The farm is very remote and off the grid. We are at the edge of beautiful Lake Berryessa, perfect for swimming and boating (kayaks and sailboat available). The climate is quite hot and sunny during the day, and cool at night. The terrain is rugged and chilly. Large projects on the farm include chicken and goat housing, building a root cellar, vegetable and herb gardens, orchard maintenance, crop harvesting, building projects with recycled materials, and landscaping. Possible non-farm work includes sheet rocking and flooring for volunteer housing, building screened porches and installing a wood stove. We prefer stays of at least 3 week and provide comforatble housing (2 people per bedroom/bathroom and full kitchen.) Meals are mostly organic, vegetarians or meaties OK. Cooking and cleaning chores are shared. We work 5 days a week, six hours a day. We provide transportation to and from the farm to San Francisco or Sacramento. Opportunities for fun excursions to town, the coast, wine tasting, San Francisco, etc. on days off. Children may be considered, sorry, no pets. Languages spoken are English and Spanish.
