Want to work with the BIG DOGS!?!We are seeking part time help managing the day to day operations at our giant guardian breed rescue and sanctuary located in Norwood, Georgia.
The opportunity offers a flexible schedule, 15 days per month, and requires a MINIMUM 6-month commitment.
Helpers are compensated with a stipend ($50) for every day worked and housing (1 bed apt, living room, private bath & laundry, utilities and wifi) accommodations will be provided.
Minimum requirements include the ability to lift 50lbs, work outdoors, and comfortably interact with large animals.
Previous experience in a shelter/rescue environment, farm and/or construction experience, giant/guardian breed experience, or general experience with dog handling/training is preferred, but not required.
WORKING ARRANGEMENT
Working 3.5 days a week (approx 30 hrs). We are an active dog rescue that works diligently to place dogs in great homes. This role is essential in helping take care of the 35+ giant breed dogs in our program which involves feeding, dispensing medicine, cleaning the outside potty yards, cleaning inside the dog's villas, dog baths, dumping waste, helping to unload dog food and storage, dog laundry, transport dogs to & from the vet, potentially help with behavior modification training if interested and assisting with adoption appointments.
People who succeed in this role are content with working alone/solo and can thrive in a more rural area. Georgia is hot in the summer and can be cold/rainy in winter.
Long term stays are given priority. (6 months).
The home is located off-site (less than a quarter of a mile from the sanctuary), and has a large fenced yard with plenty of space for a garden.
