Our ecolodge is an isolated, environmentally conscious lodge located 3.5 hours by boat from Leticia in the Amacayacu National Park within the Colombian Amazon.
The lodge is a project that was set up with the local indigenous community of San Martin. All the onsite staff are from the community.
At the lodge we strive to provide tourists an authentic Amazonian experience, placing them in the middle of the forest well away from any developed areas. We also offer a variety of activities that aim to show case the beauty of the region. Message us so we can give you more info on our business. We are only looking for volunteers who speak both English and Spanish. We prefer that volunteers stay a minimum of 2 weeks but we are willing to accept shorter periods if we have tourists staying at the lodge during those times. Volunteers will be expected to provide translator services for any guests that may be at the lodge. This means accompanying a group of guests for the duration of their visit, usually 4 or 5 days, and being a link between them and the local guides.
We encourage volunteers, if time is allowing, to develop some sort of project that would benefit the community or the national park. The project does not need to be complicated. Could be as simple as a sustainable arts workshop or English classes.Volunteers will sleep in a private simple room with a bed/ mosquito net. Using the shared staff facilities.Volunteers will be provided all meals as well as transport between Leticia and the lodge every 2 weeks.
