******We'll have place to host people from December 2017 onward! *****
Hi! We are two friends developing a life project in the area of Pisco Elqui. Myriam decided to move to Pisco Elqui some years ago and bought a land here to make her home and a place to share with people. Poly, me, from Argentina, arrived this year, with a solid background in ecotourism to help her to develop her ideas. We are life long friends, who met years ago in Chile. We both lived and worked in Europe for several years.I also lived in the Caribbean and Central America working in tourism. I speak English and both speak Spanish and French.
We'd like people to came over and help us to develop several small projects. I worked in some helpx projects around the world some years ago and because of this experience we want to make a fair exchange for everyone. We thought we need help 4 hours a day in the mornings,9 to 1 ish; 5 days a week. Ideally, we ask for 5 days minimum, up to months.... depending on how you we all feel about it. But if this is not fitting your schedule or if you have other plans let us know and we can always talk and find something that is good for everyone.
We want helpers to get to know the region, the people of town and become part of this community. This is a magical region with breathtaking skies and great energy. There are a lot of spiritual and mind developing workshops around town also yoga, circus and dance class for all levels you can join at a fair price. The area is very touristy during the summer, with the river and mountains right next to the town. It is also an isolated area and we understand it is not for everyone. We are located about a mile from town so you must like to walk....we can help you to get groceries but you must be independent.
There is not much developed on site at the moment but we can provide you with a tent and lunch for the days you are working. Everything will be very basic but we know you'll love the place.
If you are traveling with a pet let us know and we can see if it is possible for you to bring it over. If you are a smoker it is ok for us, but we don't smoke so we ask for respect. If you take care of your cigarette butts and smoke far from eating places or enclosed areas, that's fine for us.
The first projects to work on are:
- A "dry toilet"
- A living fence (made of trees)
- A quincho area
- Other small projects to develop areas for helpers to be more comfortable
I'll be updating the list of projects to do through the year. Hope to hear from you. Thanks for taking the time to check on us!! I'm developind a web page so I'll update it here whenever is ready for you to see more of the place.
