Rainforest landscaping and trails maintenance

Location: Itacaré, Brazil
Join CEWARI in Itacaré for a volunteer position focused on rainforest landscaping and trail maintenance. Help clear paths, spread leaves, and shape natural trails in a peaceful forest setting. Ideal for nature lovers with good physical condition seeking meaningful work and connection with the environment. Minimum stay: 7 days.

WORKING ARRANGEMENT

Volunteering at CEWARI involves contributing a minimum of 24 hours per week, usually spread over 4 to 5 days, allowing time for rest and personal activities. The work is mostly outdoors, focused on trail maintenance, landscaping, reforestation, and eco-living tasks. Volunteers should be in good physical and mental condition, as some tasks involve manual labor in a tropical environment. Clear guidance is provided, but initiative and responsibility are encouraged. Household tasks like cleaning the kitchen or bathrooms are shared but not counted as volunteer hours. The work is meaningful, grounding, and offers a chance to connect deeply with nature.

LIVING ARRANGEMENT

Living at CEWARI is a simple, off-grid experience designed to foster connection with nature and sustainable living. Volunteers stay in tents with a mattress, bedsheets, and pillow, set in designated forest areas. There’s a shared kitchen with basic utensils and gas for cooking, and everyone is responsible for cleaning up after use. Water is sourced from the river or rain, and washing is done by hand with biodegradable products. Compost toilets and natural bathing areas are part of daily life. Volunteers are expected to live respectfully, minimizing impact on the environment and maintaining a clean, organized personal and communal space.
