We are a non making profit organization established by the mother of late severe multiple disabled son named Erick, Being upset with condition of her son in early 1990 she managed to mobilize her fellow mothers of children with disabilities ,and there by launch the effective campaign for the rights of their children in Morogoro with aim of assuring the rights of disabled people from urban and rural areas are respected, in respect of her son who motivated her to spearhead the movement of advocating the rights of people with disabilities in Morogoro.

The main core activity for EMFERD, uses the approach of Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) is a method to make sure those services to people with disabilities reach the target group.
From the CBR WHO matrix we are fulfilling the following: -
• Education
• Rehabilitation
• Health
• Empowerment

Morogoro Town OFFICE
Our small office in Morogoro town serve as the home for orphans disabled, thus the orphans disabled reside permanent from the EMFERD (Home care), the service as a temporally home for orphans disabled, 3 orphans are cared and other 23 orphans served in the outreach. Moreover we have an office which works at the technical office to facilitate local and international communications and other management services.

The community workers from Morogoro town are doing much field work to families with disabled, and conduct trainings to parents with disabled and awareness raising seminars in remote rural villages.

During weekend or off time volunteer will have opportunity to visit nearest national parks located in Morogoro region Mikumi national park and Udzungwa national park, doing hiking to the hills around project visiting local villages and learn African life style eg. Cooking African food, Hand crafts etc
