Volunteer teacher needed

Location: Zanzibar, Kizimkazi, Tanzania

Assalam International school is beautiful school located in Zanzibar. For 2022 academic year, we have launched six classes (for almost 90 students, from kindergarten and primary school). Most of our students come from a local, very poor village. Sometimes they are orphans who, without our help, would not have a chance for a normal education.
Each class is led by a local teacher, but we rely also on volunteers, who are helping in classes on everyday basis.

WORKING ARRANGEMENT

Main responsibilities are: assisting/partially conducting lessons in English (according to skills, talents etc). Assisting and supervising students during play time / lunch break. Proactive involvement in school life (attending special events, helping with marketing, helping in school administration and social media).

LIVING ARRANGEMENT

Working hours from Monday to Friday between 7:30 am until 4 pm.
We offer accommodation on our beautiful compound in a shared room right by the Ocean.
Breakfast, small lunch and dinner are offered for free on a daily bases.
We accept volunteers for minimum 3 months.
