School in Tanzania

STAR school caters for 3-16 yrs. Following the success of setting up a school library we are looking for volunteers to work in a school based African Arts Centre for students.The African Arts Centre is a new project including renovating a building and introducing art activities. Art is not taught in any form in Tanzania so we are looking for a wide selection of creative input at all levels.
Volunteers will be expected to be on site during Friday and Saturday, with an extra preparation day. Accommodation is offered free to volunteers in single sex rooms,with a provision for one married couple. There is a weekly 15$ service charge per person.
We are aware that volunteers are not all familiar with African Art and we will endeavor to increase your skill before expecting you to teach very small groups of students.
