Help needed from volunteer teachers to teach in preschool at Matai in Kalambo, Rukwa-TANZANIA.

Location: MATAI, , TANZANIA

We are school organization based in small town called Matai in Kalambo, Rukwa, 54km from Sumbawanga town and 1150km from the capital city Dar-es-salaam Tanzania. We are very new and small school with 11gilrs and 9 boys between the ages of 2-6 years old. We need volunteers from all around the world to help our organization to;
i. Teach our children aged between 2 to 6 years in collaboration with local teachers. You will teach English, General science and Arithmetic depending on your area of competence.
ii. Improve English language practices to our children which is a medium of instruction in our school hence build confidence in them to speak English fluently.
iii. Construct simple playground facilities and organize sports and games that motivate our children learning
iv. Organize workshops for our local teachers, teaching and learning material preparation, and practical lesson
v. Equip our local teachers with variety of instructional media technology relevant to early childhood education.
vi. Enhance teaching techniques to our local teachers that will add value to their teaching and children learning
vii. Help in school website design and
viii. Help in school furniture construction
Hosting capacity and duration: We can host a maximum of 4 volunteer per time and we are able to host volunteer only for a maximum of two weeks.
Meal: Our organization provides meal services daily to volunteers
Accommodation: We provide accommodation in which volunteers with the same sex share the same room.
Transport: You will pay your own transportation to and from our place within a town area. However, we will be able to transport volunteers from Sumbawanga town to Matai during the time of arrival and departure.
Health security: Health centre is available in town for body check-up and other treatments.
Internet services: The area is well connected with internet services to enable volunteer to keep on communicating.
Volunteer’s schedule: 5working hours through Monday to Friday, as shown in the timetable below.

10:00am-10:30am Taking breakfast
10:30am -13:00pm Working in a respective area of specialization
13:00pm- 14:00pm Taking lunch
14:00pm-16:00pm Working in a respective area of specialization
16:00pm onward Private activity (this may involve family visit of our students by volunteers)

At weekends you are free and we may travel together to visit some of tourist attractions like Kalambo Fall which is the tallest uninterrupted falls in Africa (65km from Matai) and Lake Tanganyika which is an African Great Lake (63km from Matai), and a Hot spring at Kizobwe Village about 15km from Matai. This tour is subject to financial status of volunteers. School supervisor will be coordinating and monitoring day to day activities of the volunteers. All administrative issues of running school will have to be communicated direct to school director for elaboration.

NB: No money is involved, however; you are invited to contribute in the charity work to buy/bring them along with you school facilities like books, educational games, laptops/computers and other teaching and learning material that you may think and wish to come with but this is an optional; you do it only if you want to do.
