Location: Nakuru, Kenya
A 5 year USAID funded project now in its 3rd year of implementation. The main objective of the project is to support activities that will improve the quality of life for orphans and vulnerable children (OVCs) and people living with HIV/AIDS and their households while ensuring their sustainability. Specifically:
To provide care and support services (6+1 core services) to 4,000 orphans and OVCs made vulnerable due to HIV/AIDS and their families within Nakuru, Molo, Koibatek, Kajiado and Laikipia Counties in Kenya by December 2015.
To provide home and community based care services to 300 PLWHIV and their caregivers within Nakuru, Molo, Koibatek, Kajiado and Laikipia Counties HCBC clients by the end of December 2015.
To facilitate system strengthening of existing community structures and networking with other stakeholders to protect and provide care to OVC and PLWHIV.
To facilitate household economic strengthening, food security and impacting of life skills for OVC, PLWHIV and their households
Volunteer Information
Able to do community work. Shall be stationed in the main project office in Nakuru, Kenya to work with us towards improving the quality of the project work, support site coordinators/field officers in offering support supervision to community health workers.
Basic accommodation and meals are provided.
