COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERING UGANDA

Community Volunteering Uganda is a social non – profit project aimed at Helping the rural communities in Jinja, Mbale and Bududa with Community Volunteering services from volunteers, backpackers, Gap year students, Nomad travellers, Workawayers, Worldpackers, who are willing to give in their precious time for the good of these communities.

MISSION STATEMENT

Community Volunteering is aimed at bringing community volunteering services to the rural communities of Uganda

VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES

The Volunteering opportunities that need to be volunteered upon include;

.Helping on farm in Jinja

.Coaching sports with the local teams sports such as Frisbee, Rugby, Football, Netball, Volleyball and Handball

.Language teaching especially english in schools around the villages of Jinja and Bududa.

.Helping with eco projects in Bududa eastern Uganda which includes planting of trees and sensitizing the community about the dangers of cutting trees.

.Gneral maintenance.

.Charity works like helping the needy, visiting and counselling the sick.

.Animal care

.Poultry farming

.Helping at the host family in Jinja and Bududa

.Art projects

.Theatre acting and plays

.Building

.Making bricks

.Computer training

.Photography teaching.

LANGUAGE SPOKEN

English will be used during the whole course of volunteering and any other language that needs to be coached is welcome

ACCOMODATION

A free private room is provided for the volunteer with water and electricity available throught the day which is shared in case the more than one volunteer

Food is home cooked but with a daily contribution from the volunteers, Breakfast, Lunch, Evening tea and supper is all served and prepared by the host family where you will be staying.

WHY IS FOOD CONTRIBUTION ASKED?

The Food contribution fee is used to help the host families with food expenses which they buy from the markets.

While not volunteering, Volunteers get a chance to;

1. Play the game of Chess while passing time off their daily volunteer routine

2. Go hiking, Uganda offers many beautiful hills and mountains for hiking.

3. Visit the Source of River Nile

4. Watch the water falls on River Nile

5. Tour Kampala slums in the capital of Uganda

6. Go Bugee Jumping on River Nile

7 . Do some Camping on river Nile

8. Visit Game parks

9. Do some walking tours aound the country

10. Try out a variety of coffees that Uganda has

11. Visit and share experiences with the surrounding areas and communities

12. Cycling a long the shores of River Nile.
