Our Community Development Road Trips are 2 week, 4x4 journeys through rural South Africa combining volunteer work, cultural experiences and adventure activities. These are the first projects of a Social Enterprise I currently run. The objective is to enable travellers to see different parts of this amazing country while also providing them with opportunity to contribute to the lives of those in the small communities they will visit.
Throughout the trip 'Road Trippers' spend time working at a variety of small, grass roots level projects focussing on animal welfare, education, agriculture and community development. In between working days, volunteers will be involved in the local communities, both Zulu and Xhosa tribes, learning about their cultures and taking part in many traditions. There are also plenty of adventure activities built into the itinerary too!
Road Trippers travel in Land Rovers in small groups of a maximum of 5 people meaning they get a more personal experience. All routes have been planned away from highways, traveling through rural villages and seeing the real country.
