My name is Brahim, i am a nomad who grew up in a little village not far from Tagounite, in a traditional Kasbah surrounded by palmtrees. My wife and i need help building the house and planting trees, fruit trees and vegetables, digging trenches aroud the palmtrees to save them from dying due to drought.
The work you will be doing is carrying water, making bricks, digging trenches, planting trees, carrying sand, cleaning in the house.
We want to make our own vegetable and fruit garden.
We have our own well next to the house.
3 times a day a meal will be provided. Breakfast at 8.30, lunch at 12 and dinner at 17.30.
We prepare the meals, we can teach you how to make moroccon food if you like.
The Kashbah is a bit remote 10 km from Tagounite in and oasis in an old nomad village.
This place is perfect for people who like calmth and solitude.
At night we play card games, make camp fires, talk, relax. We work usualy between breakfast and lunch. You work max 15 hours per week.
I speak berber, darija, standard arbic and intermediate english. My wife speaks fluent english and beginner french and darija.
We go regularly to Tagounite, you can join us if you like. Every thursday there is a big market where we buy food.
If you want to go to Tagounite yourself then you can go with a tuk tuk, it's around 80 Dirham one way.
This area is great for walking but you have to watch out for stray dogs, they can be very dangerous, you cannot walk alone here, you need to go in a group.
You can stay for free with us but you have to pay for your own food, we buy the food and prepare the meals for everybody and all eat together.
You can get here with supratours or ctm buses.
The bus from Marakech departes daily at 11 AM and you arrive in Tagounite at 20.30.
We will be waiting for you at the bus station and bring you to the kasbah.
Best is if you buy your own moroccon sim card from inwi or orange. It's cheap here. In most little supermarkets you can buy sim cards for 5 euro or you can buy a 10GB for 10 euro or 20GB for 20 euro on Marrakech airport.
I have sometimes help from my brothers .
You will meet my family who lives in Tagounite and my friends.
When there are weddings we visit them sometimes so you can also experience that.
